WWE Hall of Famer Booker T explains the death of Sabu on him

A few days away, the wrestling world is still from the unexpected death of Sabu, the legendary ECW star, who was both hardcore and high flying wrestling in the 1990s. At the beginning of the week, many former ECW stars appeared on “Busted Open Radio” and shared memories of Sabus career and their time with him. But his death was felt outside the ECW bubble, also by Booker T.

In the latest episode of the “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker admitted that Sabus Death was unexpectedly pulled on him.

“I had a bad day, I had a hard day yesterday,” said Booker. “I'm a serious man. I don't … I didn't know that I would take it so hard, you know what I mean? But I swear man, I couldn't motivate yesterday. I couldn't get out of bed at all, I couldn't really get going and think about the death of Sabu.”

Although he did not work with him in ECW, Booker Sabu met both in Japan and the WCW and remembered the first time in 1992 while he and his brother Stevie Ray Sabu met. The WWE Hall of Famer praised Sabu both as a performer and as a person.

“I only had a good time when I was in Sabu,” said Booker. “He was always completely, he was always in the zone. He always went out and performed at his highest level and did what he did. He was an innovator … He was really an innovator. The people who still copy SABU style and his in-ring appearances to this day.
