Teenager dies in the hospital after the frontal accident in Butler County

Liberty Township, Ohio (Wxix) – A teenager is dead in Liberty Township after a crash on Wednesday.

The teenager, who was not identified, was 17 years old and died, according to the butler County's sheriff, at UC West Chester Hospital.

The crash occurred around 11:45 a.m. in the Maude Hughes Road, south of the Kyles station Road, explained the sheriff's office.

The 17-year-old drove with a Honda Civic when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on with a Ford Transit van 2021, the Sheriff's office by Butler County.

The teenager was taken to the hospital, where the sheriff's office said he died shortly after his arrival.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy,” said Richard Jones, Sheriff of Butler County. “The loss of a young life is something that no family ever has to endure. Our hearts are with the family while they control this devastating loss.”

The Ford van driver was treated in the hospital for minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still being examined.
