The RS40B scandal reveals gaps in GOVT -DEPTS

Peshawar:

The largest financial scandal in the history of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa-The-Die after an astonishing 40 billion rupees corresponds to the government departments according to the animals of the government departments, since they provided non-satisfactory answers before the public accounts (PAC) of the KP meeting. The departments such as finance, general accountant and communication & work (C&W) could not present a complete documentation or convince the members of the committee of their performance in relation to embezzlement in Upper Kohistan.

During the high -ranking meeting under the chairmanship of the spokesman for the Babar Saleem Swati meeting, the departments mainly shifted to each other. The spokesman criticized the departments for their poor coordination and emphasized that this is not only a 40-billion-RS scandal, but probably part of a wider corruption network that may achieve 500 to 600 billion rupees.

In contrast, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was praised to attribute 20 billion rupees from the abused funds. Spokesman Swati emphasized this as a rare case in which no political figures are involved, and said the scandal contains a deeply rooted institutional corruption, especially within the AG office, the finance department and the C&W.

Despite the size of the corruption, only two officials were initially suspended. The PAC ordered the suspension of additional civil servants in the departments involved. The AG's office was instructed to suspend two more officers within three days and to lead further measures. Finance and C&W have also been instructed to identify and punish more employees.

The AG claimed that NAB had taken all records in connection with Upper Kohistan and did not return it. However, NAB made it clear that it only accepts copies of documents, not from originals. The spokesman reported the AG for over -control boundaries and insisted that the office should maintain copies.

The C&W secretary announced that an internal investigation had led to the suspension of seven civil servants, but the PAC demanded that all SDOs and Xens are suspended from 2019 to 2024. The spokesman added that even check had to be held accountable to the signatories. Together with their beneficiaries, contractors who work among fake companies must be put on the black list.

DG AUDIT SIRAJUL HAQ informed the committee that over 200 billion rupees were found irregular irregularities last year alone and more discrepancies were found worth 6 rupees in 18 districts. He emphasized the need to check the records of each decade of Kohistan, which promised a full report by December.

A heated exchange also broke out between PPP MPA Ahmad Karim Kundi and finance consultant Muzzammil Aslam, whereby Kundi demanded that Aslam resign. Aslam contested any participation in the scandal and claimed the innocence of his department. The session ended with warnings that no department or civil servant would make the accountability spared.

Speaker Swati summarized the feeling: “This is not just theft – it is systematic institutional failure.”
