According to reports, Atlanta Hawks meet with two projected top picks at the NBA Combine

The 2025 NBA Draft Lottery is in the books and it went exactly as the Atlanta Hawks had hoped. While the choice of the Hawks was controlled by San Antonio, Atlanta observed attentively and hoped that the Sacramento Kings pick would remain in 13th place. Atlanta owned the Kings Pick this season thanks to the Kevin Huerter trade in 2022 and finally mediated this season. While there was a likelihood of the choice of the Hawks, it is now officially and Atlanta will now have two picks in the first round this season. The Mavericks pulled a stunner and won the NBA draft lottery, with the Spurs, 76 and hornets rounded off the top 4.

Now Atlanta has to decide what to do with her two picks in the first round (13 and 22). The 2025 NBA Draft Combine takes place this week and the Hawks and General Manager Onsi Saleh do not waste time with the process. According to reports, Atlanta has already met with two of the best prospects of the design, Duke Stürmer Kon Knueppel and Maryland Center Derik Queen:

Most of the bills have both players before 13, but it is good for the Hawks to do their Due Diligence if they either choose one of these players or one of them to 13.

Knueppel would give the Hawks a knockdown shooter and one of the toughest players in the entire design class. In a season at Duke, he achieved an average of 14.4 ppg, 4.0 RPG and 2.7 APG on 48/41/91 shooting splits. He seems to go into the top -Ten picks like a lock, which means that Atlanta may have to go to the top ten or even the top eight to choose it.

Queen fits the Hawks interesting, mainly because of his defensive concerns. Atlanta has only Onyeka Occongu on the squad in the center for the next season and needs at least two more bigs, with one or both perhaps in the draft. Queen was one of the country's top players last season and led the terrapins to the Sweet Sixteen, while she achieved an average of 16.5 ppg, 9.0 RPG and 1.9 APG to 53/20/77 shooting. However, his three -point shot and defense are big question marks, and it may not be the best behind Okongwu.

Atlanta is still looking for his new president of basketball operations.

Now the Hawks will probably meet several prospects in the combine, but it is remarkable that they take the time to speak to two interested parties who are probably not there when they select 13th place. Let us see who the Hawks will meet with the next week and with whom you will bring in for training sessions until the draft of the next month.
