Jalen Brunson enables a bit defensive for the Celtics to work for a floater, and Joe Mazzulla wants a break. Still a little quiet here in the TD Garden when New York 9-8 leads to play with 8:06.

Some rather hearty cheers ran out of the Knicks fans' cohort when New York took the ground for warm -up.

Jaylen Brown is asked to keep the Celtics' cargo alive – 6:35 p.m.

By Julian Benbow

While the time seemed to stop when the Celtics had operated on the devastating reality of the Franchise Kernstück Jayson Tatum on Tuesday to repair the tendon of a broken Achilles, their series of the second round against the Knicks is still very strong.

The Celtics are in a 3-1 hole after taking the 4-year-old game on Monday in Madison Square Garden, not only through the loss of Tatum, but also through the reality of the excretion if the plan should repeat itself as a champions.

It is a hard street-only 13 teams to come back from a 3-1 deficit. It is even harder to come back at home after the loss of the first two games – only five teams did it.

If you come back without Tatum, an almost impossible task is much more difficult.

The Celtics have not had to play many games without Tatum since their arrival in 2017. In eight seasons, Tatum missed only 51 games of the regular season.

He had never missed a playoff game until this season when he got out of game 2 in the first round.

As the Tatum was sitting in the regular season, the difference was usually noticeable. The Celtics are 392-193 when Tatum is on the ground and 29-22 if he is not.

With Tatum, the task of leading the team is Jaylen Brown.

Since Tatum in 2017, Brown has only played 39 games without him.

The Celtics are 22-17 in these games.

Jaylen Brown wanted to be “the man” for the Celtics for a long time, and game 5 is his chance – 6.15 p.m.

By Tara Sullivan

Immediately after Jayson Tatum's devastating injury on Monday evening, Jaylen Brown spoke for an entire Celtics convertible room when he said: “I just have no words.”

Who would blame him? With Tatum, with the team on the edge of the excretion, these Celtics are in a collective state of shock and unbelief. Of course words are difficult to get; It is only the fate of the franchise in balance.

As important as these conversations are, as much work as Team President Brad Stevens, who has redesigned his Win-now cader or a detailed owner Bill Chisholm, may not take over the resident dynasty that he imagined. There are more immediate business.

Game 5 on Wednesday evening in the TD Garden.

For this, Brown has to find his words. And his game.

Knick's star Jalen Brunson: 'The league needs Jayson Tatum' – 6:00 p.m.

By Conor Ryan

The Boston Celtics and their fans stagger after Jayson Tatum broke an Achilles tendon on Monday evening in the semi -finals of the Eastern Conference.

But the reality of one of the brightest of the NBA is missing over a year of the campaign in its heyday as a brutal development for basketball as a whole.

While Knick's star Jalen Brunson and the rest of his teammates will try to eliminate a short -time work on Wednesday evening in the TD Garden, the Point Guard sent many wishes away on Wednesday morning and at the same time complained about his injury.

“I feel for him. It is an unfortunate situation for a player like him,” Brunson told reporters before game 5 via sny video. “The league needs Jayson Tatum. What he could do in his career was remarkable. He still has a lot to do in his career, which means a lot of time to influence and make a name for his legacy. What he did is something special.

Jayson Tatum broke the tendon of his Achilles. Local doctors weigh what comes next. – 5.45 p.m.

When Jayson Tatum fell on the floor in Madison Square Garden on Monday evening, it was clear that something was very wrong.

The worst fears of Celtics fans were recognized on Tuesday when the team announced that Tatum had broken the tendon of his right Achilles in the final minutes of the semi -final loss of the East Conference in Boston.

Tatum was operated on Tuesday to repair the tendon, and the team said there was no schedule for his return. The team did not say who carried out the operation or where it was done.

The six-time all-star will probably make a “complete recovery”, said the team. But for an injury that is one of the most serious in professional sport, it is not clear what it could look like.

“Unfortunately, this is the most serious tendon that can be injured in the ankle and foot area,” said Dr. Kurt Hofmann, an orthopedic surgeon at the New England Baptist Hospital. “It is really a significant injury to get.”

Jayson Tatum shares a photo from the recovery of the operation – 5:30 p.m.

One day after the operation to repair the tendon of a broken Achilles, Celtic's striker Jayson Tatum released a picture of himself in a hospital bed on Wednesday that thumbs up and smiled, with the heading “grateful for love and support”.

In the photo, Tatum's right foot is wrapped in a large casting and slightly based on a pillow. The post received more than 250,000 likes in 20 minutes, with the former Patriots star Tom Brady and the Sun's star Kevin Durant among the many followers.
