Peshawar: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) demanded a Mega corruption scandal of 40 billion rupees of 40 billion rupees of 20 billion rupees – the largest in the history of Khyber Paktunkhwa.

The KP Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has expressed dissatisfaction with the information provided by the financing, C&W and the office of the accountant and the suspension of all officials, including the executive engineers (Xens) and the SDOs, arranged within three days. In addition, the general director of the Audit was instructed to carry out a special examination of the government accounts mentioned in 36 districts.

The spokesman Babar Saleem Swati, who surprisingly expressed the transfer of the general book, asked the question: “AG Sahib, we heard that they were transferred? How can a transfer take place at such a time?” The PAC will write to Pakistan's general accountant to ensure that KP AG will only be transferred when the request is completed.

The meeting was informed that nine civil servants involved in the scandal have been suspended so far. During the meeting, government officials were seen as they accused each other. A heated exchange also took place between opposition member Ahmad Kundi and finance consultant Mruzzil Aslam.

Spokesman Swati explained that the Kohistan case is the largest in the history of the province. According to current investigations, the finance department, the C&W and the AG Office of AG are involved. So far, however, no political personality has been involved. NAB developed well when changing the case, he said. The spokesman announced that NAB recovered 50 percent – about 20 billion rupees – and expressed hope that NAB would receive 99 percent of the looted money.

The secretary C&W informed the PAC that the department initiated an examination and suspended seven civil servants who were connected to the case from 2019 to 2024. Documents from this period were checked by the AG office and the finance department. It was found that many checks that were issued to contractors of development projects in Kohistan could be fake.

MPA Sajjad Abbasi pointed out that many C&W workers are fake and that fake companies that are registered under different names should be placed on the black list. However, the chief engineer C&W claimed that all records are checked by Audit and the financial department and that no corruption had taken place in their department.

The DG -Audit said that when checking last year, irregularities of more than 21 billion rupees were pointed out. Examination officers checked accounts and expenditure of 18 districts in six departments and identified additional irregularities of 6 billion rupees. All data from Kohistan were checked, which resulted in massive irregularities. In order to completely examine corruption in Kohistan, a 10-year financial balance must be checked. He applied for a deadline from the end of December to present a complete examination report on Kohistan's corruption.

He added that audits had to be carried out for 3,500 offices in KP. In view of the fact that 40 billion rupees for a poor province like KP are a large amount, a thorough examination is carried out.

The spokesman Swati appreciated Arshad Aziz Malik from Jang Group to uncover the scam of 40 billion rupees, and added that he had discovered a mega fraud and you will soon honor him.
