Local perspective:

“He is gone and does not come back and what?” The mother of Anthony Salas, Robin Alba, said.

Anthony Salas and his family were in their house in Del Valle. They packed his sister's car together. She got ready to go.

“His sister came back into the house and said: 'Mom, my car is gone' and I was like, we were just out there things in the car so that you could go home, and suddenly the car drives within five minutes how what happened? He heard, of course, heard it and was, and I did not like me, I, I didn't. They went,” said Alba.

She said she went to find the car.

“He did it to protect his family,” said Alba.

Salas' mother said she didn't think she would find it, but apparently they did it.

“He never came back. He never came through the door,” said Alba.

Salas was shot at, ran and killed near Ross Road and Throne Valley Drive near the del Valle Elementary School.

“He was a good child, he was really very good. My baby is 20, but he was my baby, and now I will never hold it back until and everything for what because these children don't. Why did they have to do that?” Said Alba.

Two children were arrested, 12 and 13 years old boys. They are both charged with terrorist threats for the capital murder.

“I feel like at the age of 12 and 13, you know rightly, you know that you are wrong if you do something that is wrong. You know that you will get into trouble. I don't like the fact that the system wants to rehabilitate these children and help them so much. Oh, they are children,” said Alba. “No, keep them accountable. The parents also have to be held accountable, because I would definitely not let my child out at three in the morning to do, God knows what.”

While the boys go through the youth system, Alba said that she used her voice to honor her son.

“Our voices have to be heard that it is wrong that this happens. It is pointless and if our community get up together and everyone gets up, we will no longer accept it,” said Alba.
