Hosts of 'Crime Junkie' give updates in a top-class case in the Phoenix region

Phoenix (Azfamilie) – Crime Junkie is Podcast No. 1 worldwide.

But first they excluded with the real crime correspondent Briana Whitney and shared a big update about the disappearance of Alissa Turney from 2001.

“We have recently started taking together in the same place this year!” said crime junkie moderator Ashley Flowers. This is hard to believe for the best friends flowers and Brit Prawat, since the two accommodate the most successful podcast of the True Crime in the world and one of the most successful podcasts as a whole.

“How was Crime Junkie originally born?” asked Whitney. “It was a dream! It was really. Brit is the one who brought me into podcasting that I never listened to,” said Flowers. “OG Podcast listener!” Prawat added.

“When I was in my time, I was obsessed. I am a crime junkie. I heard to hear every real criminal podcast that was out there, and I wanted a very specific format that nobody was looking for. We were looking for it. Finally, we came to a point when we were, maybe we should just make the show,” said Blumen.

That was in December 2017 and the girls zoomed in their houses in Indiana from guest rooms. “We thought it would be this cool Indiana thing in which we may carry out their Indiana cases. Show DNA cases, yes, and only in the first year only exploded. It decreased so quickly. A life of his own,” said Flowers and Prawat.

Crime Junkie has more than 2 billion downloads. Flowers and Prawat have intensified for the support of cases and victims and at the same time maintain relativity, of which so many listeners want to be part. Arizona is something special for Flowers who has completed the Arizona State University.

You have covered several top-class, unresolved arizona cases in the podcast. One of them is the case that the 17-year-old Turney disappeared from her house in Paradise Valley in May 2001. Alissa Turney's sister Sarah Turney took the matter in hand and began to gain a massive supporter on social media, to go to the stock exchange with the case of her sister and to fight answers and arrest. After many years, her stepfather Michael Turney was arrested for her murder, but was acquitted in 2023.

In your case there is now a brand new update regarding a Jane Doe from California.

“In her view, some of the same cases we have covered her: Robert Fisher, Alissa Turney, Adrienne Salinas. What was it about these unresolved cases you have made to cover her?” asked Whitney.

“I think Alissa Turney is a great example. Her sister Sarah turned to us early on and asked us to have stayed in such close contact with her. I mean, I literally received an update about her case today. She said that you found some remains in California thought that you could be your sister. My? This is not the end.

Now Crime Junkie is on her nationwide tour and hopes in Phoenix on Friday and hopes to experience her tried and tested listeners.

“What can people expect from you?” asked Whitney.

“I hope you are enthusiastic. I was on many live podcast experiences, everyone is a different experience. What I tell people is exactly what the podcast feels. It will feel like you are sitting in the living room and telling a story with me. You get us a video, it is a different experience than the show as a whole. “It is a case that you have never heard before, a very not reported case. I would be shocked if someone knew it at all. It will be good.”

Flowers began the non -profit season of the judiciary, the DNA tests for cold cases. Whitney is a member of the Board of Director for the judiciary season.

The live tour show will take place on Friday at 8 p.m. in the Arizona Financial Theater. Tickets are still available.
