Two children and their mother still fight for their lives after the crash of the multi-vehicle on Sunday on Interstate 75, which also led to the arrest of a tractor driver, whose actions allegedly caused the collision.

The 23 -year -old Lane Smith was one of two who, according to the police department of East Ridge, died at the fiery crash. His wife Baleigh Smith and two children, Brynlee and Sawyer, were in the vehicle with Lane and are hospitalized. David Huggins, 61, also lost his life in the crash.

The crash occurred on the I-75 in East Ridge, which was supposedly due to the actions of Antoinier Joseph von Südflorida, who drove the tractor trailer. He was arrested and charged with ruthless murder, a ruthless hazard and ruthless serious attack.

“The trucks' actions have definitely caused the crash,” said Clint Utelton, police chief of East Ridge.

According to a Facebook post, Sawyer, a toddler, is in the Pediatric intensive care unit from Erlanger. Tammy Carpenter, owner and director of Little Blessings Childcare, where Sawyer goes to day care, said his class was not the same.

“Everyone just loves Sawyer,” said Carpenter. “He is only this kind of child.”

Sawyer has been glued to his teacher Macey Widner, added Carpenter.

“He just loved his Macey,” she said. “On the weekends, they said he cried to be with Macey. They are fighting with it.”

Shane Trahin, an elder in the Mimosa Church of Christ in Fayetteville, Tennessee, where the Smiths visit Church, said that Sawyer had operated on the intracranial pressure, and that he had some small brain bleeding, which doctors hope to seal themselves and heal themselves. From Tuesday, according to Trahin, Sawyer was still on a ventilator.

Baleigh Smith was operated on because of a spine fracture, said Trahin, and Brynlee has burns for which skin grafts are required. A family contribution from a family to the family said Brynlee had been flown to the Burn Unit of Vanderbilt Hospital.

“With Lane, you know, I was there when the child was in diapers,” said Trahin by phone. “Heart pain. I don't know what else to say.”

The city gathered around the family. Members of the community have launched a gofundme page and opened a savings account to collect money for the family, and the Brynlee dance force dances with donations via Venmo. The Gofundme page has collected over 60,000 US dollars in two days.

Trahin and Carpenter said they were not surprised by the love of love.

“Lincoln County is still quite small. Our census of 2000, the numbers look almost exactly like the census from the 1900s,” said Trahin. “It's still a pretty close -meshed group.”

Carpenter organized a prayer meeting for the family on Monday evening.

“We had come over on Sunday evening when we got the floor,” said Carpenter, “we passed his little shirt and we had prayed for him. And then yesterday I had the feeling when they had told us that it would be a miracle, only Jesus could work so that our community was together and we had a big prayer service for this family and this baby.”

Trahin said everyone wants to help, but the best way to do this is to pray.

“We can't do anything to relieve people's suffering, but I know that God hears prayers,” said Trahin. “The more of them rise, the easier it gets.”

Joseph dragged to Amazon, but was not employed by the company, said Amber Plunkett, a spokesman for Amazon, by e -mail.

“This is a terrible tragedy and our thoughts are with all those involved,” said Plunkett. “We cooperate with all studies.”

Joseph was at Valparasio Trucking Corp. busy from South Florida. The company merged with Amazon, said the owner and operator Wisner Florestant by phone.

“He has his own truck,” said Florestant, “but he runs under my authority.”

Florestant said that if Joseph is to blame for the accident, the company's insurance would be involved.

Florestant said Joseph was responsible for his own maintenance on his truck. He said Joseph had been driving for years, but has only been busy with Valparasio Trucking for a few months. Florestant said Joseph had never had any problems according to his knowledge.
