Why does the Trump administration want a new Air Force One?

President Trump said the United States needed a “more impressive” Air Force One, which corresponds to the slim jets in the oil -rich nations in the Middle East.

The two 747-200, which now serve as Air Force One-after when the president is on board on board and should be out of operation years ago.

The efforts in the past 10 years to replace them have met with repeated delays, and it is not expected that the planes will leave office before Mr. Trump, although perhaps in 2027 for the earliest.

So he said that he is planning to accept a Boeing 747-8, which is known to the Pentagon as a “palace in the sky” as a donation of the royal family to the Pentagon, in order to be handed over to his presidential library. The plan – the Qatarian civil servant is only discussed, but not concluded – has drawn an immense setback, also by Republicans, since Mr. Trump defiantly insisted that there was no problem with it.

The aircraft, which now serves as Air Force One, is certain, but they are time and planes should only fly for a certain time before they are retired.

“They are just old aircraft – and planes have a limited life,” said Frank Kendall, who acted as a secretary of the Air Force until the beginning of this year and initially worked on contracts to replace the two aircraft during the Obama government. “There is no question that these planes have to be replaced.”
