The British blood scandal: poisoned at school

Brand-new documentary reveals the devastating truth behind the infected blood scandal of the 1970s and 1980s.

In the scandal, over 30,000 people with HIV and hepatitis C were infected after they received contaminated blood products and blood transfusions – this negative league and the subsequent cover -up became known as the worst medical catastrophe in NHS history.

The documentary focuses on the tragic personal stories of hemophilic children at the Mayor Treloar School in Hampshire, who were sent to the special unit with the promise of a “normal childhood”, but instead became victims of secret medical research, which many of them leave with hepatitis and HIV.

This film follows the stories of the few remaining survivors if they fight for truth and justice.

The British blood scandal: Poisoned at school will be poisoned on Tuesday, May 20 at 9 p.m. on ITV1.
