Family wants to answer after a couple in Miami Gardens House Fire – NBC 6 Südflorida was killed

A week after a husband and a wife died in a house fire in Miami Gardens, family members say that they are still waiting for answers.

Jamie Spencer wants to know what happened to her sister Rhonda and Rhonda's husband of almost 20 years, Timothy Fordham. Firefighters found the couple dead in their burning house last Wednesday.

While the examination is not over yet, Spencer believes that her sister's death has more.

“God knows God knows and it will come out,” said Spencer. “We are all on the ground and still don't know what happened, it doesn't make it better, it makes it worse.”

Tonjamin Williams, who escaped from a separate living area in the back of the house, spent hours outside to hope that his aunt Ronda Spencer-Fordham and his uncle Tim Fordham would find out alive. Chernéy Amhara from NBC6 reports.

A week later, Spencer and their relatives went back to home to celebrate Rhonda's life with balloons, poster boards and other souvenirs to remember them.

“She was a caring, loving, compassionate,” said Spencer. “Your church family hurts, her employees hurt, hurt their classmates, we hurt.”

Spencer says she also wanted to educate all the rumors that her nephew was involved.

“He is not and was not a suspect, in fact he was a second victim and hurt so bad,” said Spencer.

Family members stick together and stick to the hope. They believe that they get the answers they are looking for.

“God is love, he wins and we will find out,” said Spencer. “Hopefully the detective will give us an answer sooner than later.”

The cause of the fire is still being examined.
