Fatal crash of Largo raises questions about the past of the University of Miami's football player on “Rennsport”

New questions arise as to whether a soccer player from Miami University was involved in a fatal crash last weekend.

According to the authorities, Adarius Hayes, a linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes, drove a Dodge Durango who collided with another vehicle in Largo and killed two children and a woman. A 10-year-old and a 4-year-old boy were killed, his father was seriously injured and his partner Gail Price was also killed.

A Largo father is after a tragic crash in the intensive care unit who demanded the life of his children and his girlfriend.

So far, no charges have been raised, and the Largo police continue their investigations, which could take two to three weeks.

The earlier racing tension went back early this year

Fox 13 has uncovered that Hayes had a previous quote for street races in Miami-Dade just a few months before the fatal crash in Miami-Dade County.

In September 2024, he was quoted in a residential area for another vehicle at a speed of over 90 miles per hour on the USA. In the event of a conviction, the law of Florida would have needed a one -year suspension of its driver's license.

However, the public prosecutor dropped the case in February 2025, just a month before Hayes was issued two more speed tickets.

Was his football status a factor?

The public prosecutor's office in Miami-Dade, led by Katherine Fernandez Rundle, dropped the racing case after the official involved allegedly “no memory of the incident” that had only taken place five months earlier.

Fox 13 asked whether Hayes' status as a soccer player at the University of Miami – where Fernandez Rundle is an alumna – played a role in the decision to give the indictment. A speaker denied every connection.

What you say:

“The officer said he had no memory of the incident. As such, a criminal defense lawyer would not advise his client to advocate something if there is no memory by the official,” said Lisette Valdes-Valle, public information officer.

Court files also show that the Body Camera film material was listed by officials as part of the discovery. Fox 13 asked about this video and did not receive an answer.

More accelerated quotes since February

Since the case of the fallen case, Hayes has been quoted at the speed of speed accelerated twice:

  • March 1, 2025 – quoted because he thrown 84 miles per hour in a 55 in Clearwater. He decided on a fine and completed a driving course.
  • March 29, 2025- because he went 80 miles per hour in a 45th time in Miami-Dade.

Ongoing investigation

Hayes was not charged with the crash, in which three people were killed in Largo.

What's next:

The police say that the investigation continues and could take several weeks.

Fox 13 also turned to the Sheriff's office in Miami-Dade and the lawyer, who represented Hayes in the former street racing team.
