Mother of Marine, who was killed in Birmingham in 2023, shot for answers

Birmingham, ala. (Wbrc)-The mother of a 24-year-old US Marine shot in Birmingham longs for answers.

Micah Honor was a proud sniper in the Marines. His mother says he served for about five years.

However, it was not a war that claimed his life instead of gun violence at home.

“I have to hold on to hope,” said Aneta Honor, the mother of Micah Honor. “It is difficult to let my baby shot in cold blood.”

While his case has become cold, his mother will never forget the spark he brought into the room.

“He was the life of the party,” said Aneta Honor. “Micah didn't hit a stranger. I mean it was like my house was a rotating door.”

According to the Birmingham police, someone deliberately shot Micah when he drove along the Warrior Road in September 2023.

After this person, his car met another vehicle and then a nearby construction fence.

Micah's mother says this person shot him with him right after the last call.

“So he had told me: 'Mom, I will run here to Wells Fargo and as soon as I am there, I shoot back at the house,” said Aneta honor. “So I actually talked to Micah at 2:58 and his girlfriend called me at 3:15 and let me know that he was gone. And immediately I hurried to the scene and he was there.”

Aneta says she has good contact with the detective in the first month until the case was stale. “I just want his face out there,” she said. “I'm just trying to keep his case open and alive.”

Aneta and the police authority in Birmingham Both try to call up some leads. She hopes that someone not only uses for her son, but for the entire community.

“To be honest, if the shoe was on the other foot and I knew, I would have said something,” said Aneta honor. “I have the feeling that our streets are safer when they have murders of it.”

The Birmingham police would like to hear from the community.
