A woman was killed on Wednesday afternoon after her vehicle joined a palm tree in Chula Vista.

The Chula Vista police authority received several 911 calls and reported a collision with a vehicle at around 1:39 p.m. near the 200 Block of Sea Vale Street, the authorities said.

Chula Vista rescue workers came to find the woman seriously injured. Firefighters carried out life -saving measures before transporting them to the UCSD Medical Center, where it was later declared dead.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle had traveled in a west direction in Sea Vale Street when it decreased from the street and had hit a palm. The authorities said that drugs and alcohol do not seem to be factors in the crash. The cause remains examined.

The woman's identity is held back until the next relatives are notified.
