Taconic State Parkway May 14th kills four people

Four people were killed and a fifth is in a critical condition after an accident with two cars on the Taconic State Parkway in New Castle, the state police said.

The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, May 14th, when a sprinter towards the south crossed the median between the exits 8 and 9 and collided with a Honda sedan that drove north on the left lane.

The van turned and broke out in flames. The police said three of his passengers were declared dead at the scene. The Honda driver died after being taken to a hospital.

The Van driver was in a critical condition in the West Chest Medical Center, the police said.

The traffic was derived from exit 8 and the alleys of the Taconic to the north were closed for several hours.
