Jimmy Butler shares the hard truth about Steph Curry's injury after the playoff loss

The Golden State Warriors ended their 2024-25 season on Wednesday evening with a defeat against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Warriors were able to beat the Timberwolves 4-1 in their second round series, but their victory is largely attributed to Steph Curry's injury.

The point guard from Warrior's superstar, Steph Curry, left her victory 1 win with a thigh burden, and unfortunately Golden State never brought him back into the series. The Warriors lost four games in a row when Curry failed because their other boys were unable to do the work in his absence.

In the games 2 to 5 with curry out, the six-time all-star Jimmy Butler only scored over 20 points once. In these four games, Butler scored an average of 20.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists and shot 45.8% from the field and 33.3% when the warriors needed the most urgently.

After the defeat on Wednesday, Butler honestly became how different the series after Steph Curry's thigh injury was.

“Obviously it is very different if we don't have Steph on the floor,” said Butler. “I have the feeling that everyone has to do more and everyone has to play a bit of a different role, but that's just the game. Injuries happen, but it is much different if Steph is not out there.”

It is difficult for every team to play a playoff series without their best player, especially the curry-weniger warriors who act against a very competitive and talented timberwolves squad.

The Warriors are now going into the low season with a safe star duo by Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler, although this is certainly not the way they wanted to end their first season together.
