Wallabies fans can breathe more easily after NSW Waratahs coach Dan McKellar removed the fears of Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii, who missed the tests against the touring British and Irish lions.

Although Suaalii required an operation for a broken jaw, McKellar said on Thursday that the injury was of a lower scale and the 21-year-old was already back in the gym to maintain his conditioning.

It was initially feared that Suaalii could be accidental knee for a long time after a random knee of teammate Andrew Kellaway in the 28:21 defeat by Waratahs against Queensland in Waratahs.

“It is only a four -week injury,” said McKellar the eve of the careless tah of the youngest has to go with the crusaders in Sydney. “He can continue this way. Do what he needs to be done and he will train again pretty quickly.

“To be honest, it's nothing big. It is just a setback, obviously disappointing from the perspective of Waratahs, but everyone is going well – and most of the time – no testing will give him.

“It is disappointing for Joseph to miss a few games for us at the end of the year, but with regard to what is ahead of us, everyone can inhale deeply and relax a little.”

Australia's first test against The Lions is on July 19 in Brisbane and offers the code hacking game breaker nine weeks to recover and return to the blockbuster series.

After Suaalii went home with his parents last Friday evening in a “vacant” state, he only found out on Monday after X -rays that he had suffered a fracture.

“His pine presented OK [initially] But with a little discomfort in the coming days, ”said McKellar.

“He is currently in the gym, so he does what he has to do. How, he talks and usually does everything so that he is good as gold. We play a sport that is collision -based and incredibly physical, and he has a bit of a friendly fire and will miss a few games.”

McKellar revealed that the parents of Suaalii had turned to the Reds Center Filipo Daugunu because, after the incident in the Allianz Stadium, they had so sportily healed and drawn attention to supporting his rival.

Suaalii was treated for a few minutes before being removed from the field on a Medicab and in a neck bracket.

“Huge respect and gratitude to Filipo Daugunu there,” said McKellar. “I spoke to Joseph's parents on Saturday and they wanted to contact him with him and it just says a lot about him.

“We go hammer and pliers [as fierce interstate rivals] And it is a physical competition for 80 minutes, and it was certainly physical on Friday evening, but at the end of the day we are all people and nobody wants to see someone who is injured.

“And the boys definitely appreciate that and nobody more than Joseph and his family.”
