Saginaw-Sport-Highlights: Hemlock repeats himself as a girls tennis regional champion

Hemlock repeated himself as the tennis regional champion of the Division 4 girls and won five flights in Midland Tennis Center on Wednesday.

The Huskies ended with 24 points, while Nouvel 21 in Division 4 State finals from May 29th in May 31st in Midland Tennis Center.

Frankenmuth finished third with 16 points, and Essexville Garber and Bullock Creek tied 11 points each. They followed Ovid-Elsie (8), Chesaning (4), Bay City All Saints (3), Caro (2) and Bridgeport (2).

Hemlock received three singles titles, with Victoria Hauffe crossed the Frankenmuths Avery Rittmueller at Singles No. 2. Carolina Shaheen from Nouvel received title No. 1 with a win against Hemlock's Carly Siler.

At Singles No. 3, Anna Nurnberg reached Jveen Murad von Nouvel, whereby Lindsey Tausch was 6-0 against Nouvels Elixabeth Garner No. 4-Singles. Tussch did not lose games and achieved three regional games.

Hemlock also won two double titles, with Claire Beck and Allie Watson claiming number 1 against Frankenmuth's Mylie Jacob and Mya Donovan. Alathea McMillan von Hemlock and Olivia Ann Chasis took first place with a 6: 4, 6: 3 victory against Nouvels Macey Hausbeck and Gabi Thiel.

Jolene Hebeler and Lauren Phillips from Ovid-Eelsie were won with a 7-6 (4), 1-6, 7-6 (3) victory against Bullock Creeks Morgan Samsel and autumn. Bullock Creek's team of Sophie Stern and Myleigh Dietlein won number 4 with a victory over Natalie Shaheen from Nouvel and Charli Hausbeck.

Softball

Frankenmuth 11-3, Hemlock 1-8: Lillian Martinez led Hemlock with two goals in the opener, while Maddie Hall added a goal and RBI. Brooke Gustin won a victory for Hemlock in game 2 and allowed three deserved runs in Seven Innings. Natalie McQueen had two hits for the huskies, with Martinez steel three bases.

Heritage 13-4, Reese 0-8: After Reese was excluded in the non-conference double header, she came back to game 2 to save the separation. Peyton Will had two goals to run Reese in the opener. Kylie Soper scored six for victory in game 2, while Breelie Louis had three goals and two RBIs for the Reese offensive. Ashtyn Frost and Seer added two hits, with Keira Campbell drove in two runs.

baseball

Chesaning 10-2, Ithaca 4-0: Max Volk had four goals, four stolen bases, three runs and two RBIs on the offensive. Volk also achieved the victory on the hill and allowed three deserved runs and five goals with five strikes in 5 2/3 innings. Eli Keck and Brady Sager added two hits, with Keck stealing three bases. Sager and Braydyn Dilts each achieved two runs, with Logan Vogelaar drove in two runs. Game 2 was mentioned in the fourth inning for lightning. Keck allowed a hit and two walks in four innings and hit four. Adam Woodcock led with a double, RBI -and -Run -Chesaning.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary 15-8, St. Charles 4-6: Zachary Scharer had three goals and drove in four runs to lead MLS to the victory of Game 1. Caleb Martin and Noah Reif added two goals each. Martin scored four runs, with Reif in three drove and scored two points. Owen Mason achieved the victory and allowed three goals in four innings. Brendan servants had a goal, ran and went for the Bulldogs. The teams combined two hits in game 2 with Will Salgat, Silas Hill and Eli Lewis, who combined a five-in-no-grille with 10 walks. Nate Archibald drove in two runs and Lewis scored twice. Scharrer went twice. Jacob Sutton went three times for St. Charles.

Sanford Meridian 11-11, St. Louis 1-1: Drew Lafave had two goals and scored three runs, which led Sanford Meridian to a win in game 1. Eli Olmstead added two RBIs and a Homer, while Bloyd had two goals for the sharks. Brady Bowen won the victory and excluded four in 2 1/3 innings. Lafave also had two goals and two RBIs in game 2, with Carson Snyder walking twice. Easton Seleski and Marcus Hoyt each had two goals for St. Louis, Garrett Bergman achieved the victory and did not allow deserved runs in four innings.

Laker High 14-11, Frankenmuth 4-8: Frankenmuth lost a few non-conference games against Laker, with Logan Diener led the Eagles in game 1 with a double and walk. EJ Bernthal added a hit, racing and walking. Brady Mort had two goals and two RBIs in game 2 for the Eagles.

Girl football

Midland High 9, Flint Cararman-Ainsworth 0: Midland High ended the Saginaw Valley League season 10-0 with the shutout on Wednesday. Ameris Blumensche Niobe Marchalant, Ellee Arnold and Cady McPeak shared the time in the goal for the shutout.

Young golf

TVC Blue Jamboree: Nouvel Catholic Central claimed the third in a row on Blue Jamboree and won on Wednesday at the Bay City Country Club with a 322nd Valley Lutheraner was second with 341, followed by Ithaca (367) and Hemlock (376). With a 76, Nouvels Ty Iamurri received the honor of medalists, followed by Nouvels Ian Ziegleman (80), Reid Schisler (80) by Valley Luthheran (80), Alex McCarthy from Nouvel (82) and Jacob Parker from Valley Lutheran (82).

Birch Run 185, Ovid-Elsie 191: Sophomore Mason Reis received a medal winner and scored a 40s at 40 in the Emerald in St. Johns to lead Birch Run to win the mid-state activity conference. Cole Beldyga followed with a 44 and Karter Knight with a 49.

Girl lacrosse

Heritage 16, Midland High 2: Breeghan Hamilton scored five goals with five interceptions and an assist for Saginaw Valley League victory. Claire Stark added four goals, with Izzy Ella Sopcak and Michaela Hamilton scored two goals. Addison Smith, Jacie Murdock and Mallory Arkwood each followed individual goals. Molly Baldwin made two parades and Julianna Huyck three for the legacy.
