FL ex-pastor occupies sex crime, avoids lifelong prison ministry

The prosecutors in Florida had tried to bring Paul Dyal, 81, behind bars for the first-degree sexual battery-a crime that possibly generated a death penalty through fatal injection.

Instead, the former Jacksonville meeting of the body Pastor accepted a plea deal and was beaten with just five years, as well as a one-year prison sentence that had already served.

The Ministry previously reported Dyals 2022 arrest from 2022 for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. His case was part of a greater approach to the Church of Dyal, in which two other pastors were arrested for participation in an alleged pattern of physical and sexual abuse by minors.

At a press conference in March 2022, eight suspected victims who were sexually harassed as minors were forced to follow cult -like rules for their appearance and behavior, beaten with paddles, “overturned” by older men in the church and isolated from the outside world.

However, the Florida Times Union reported that Dyal is guilty of contributing to the crime or dependence of a child in the prosecutor's persecution in the public prosecutor's office in the public prosecutor's office.

The problem began when Dyal's suspected victim asked the public prosecutor without continuing.

According to Florida Times Union, the victim originally reported abuse decades ago, but the police did not track. Only after the Jacksonville office had received a new tip about sexual abuse in the church in September 2020 did the investigators reach them and asked them to take part in Dyal's public prosecutor.

Instead of calling the victim to the stand during the trial, the court read its effects.

“I grew up to hear the script because I am fair, to serve the Lord, to be a loyal servant and to take care of each other,” said the explanation, according to Florida Times Union. “In addition to my reality, a very watchful eye was very different. My reality felt scared and sick because I knew that the punishments that were disguised as a” discipline “could be waiting for me in every corner that I was shooting.”

Another meeting of Jacksonville of the Leibe Christi Pastor, Vernon Williamson, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2024 for two cases of capital sexual battery.

The third defendant, Jerome Teschendorf, was also charged with a sexual battery in capital and is waiting for a pre -judicial hearing on May 19. He did not know his guilty.

The Jacksonville meeting has closed its doors since then. But a former member, Cynthia Crawford, told News4jax She had abuse stories from other people in the gospel assembly, the network of churches, to which Jacksonville was gathered.

“I have people about very similar actions, very similar lifestyles, very similar abuse styles, sexual abuse of abuse, in Kentucky, Texas, Oklahoma, California, Oregon, calling and talking about it,” she said. “Everywhere.”
