Jayson Tatum's tragedy did not end after leaving the court.

He still had to call his parents.

ESPN NBA -insider Marc J. Spears gave a look at the tearful reputation that Boston Celtics's star made his father Justin Tatum.

“Jayson called him as soon as he could.

Justin Tatum is currently head coach of Pelita Jaya of the Indonesian basketball league. According to Spears, the older Tatum was in South Korea and traveled to a game in Mongolia when he played against the New York Knicks in game 4.

Justin Tatum said Spears that he “roared” after seeing his son's injury. But after Justin Tatum had phoned, he had a message for his son.

The Celtics announced that Tatum suffered a torn Achilles tendon against the Knicks during game 4 and was operated on Tuesday.

An Achilles tear is a serious injury with a long timeline for the return. Tatum will miss the rest of the post-season and is expected to miss a large part of the 2025-26 season.
