YouTube live streaming for free week 1 NFL game September 5th in Brazil worldwide -except in North America

The National Football League announced that YouTube will roam the first game of the 2025 NFL season with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 5 for a worldwide audience (outside of North America) on YouTube and YouTube TV.

The NFL in 2025 will have seven games outside the USA

This is the first exclusive NFL game that is streamed live and free of charge on YouTube. YouTube TV owned by Google is currently the exclusive distributor of “NFL Sunday Ticket”, for which it reports that the NFL will pay over $ 2 billion a year by 2029.

The game will be available worldwide via YouTube, except in Canada and certain other countries. In the USA, the game will stream with an NFL+ anonnement on mobile devices and in certain regions outside the USA via the NFL game passport for paid subscribers.

In accordance with the long-term NFL guideline, the game will be available free of charge on the local markets of the participating teams on the regular television.

“YouTube and YouTube TV have been incredible partners of the NFL for several years and have an immense global range,” said Hans Schroeder, EVP for media distribution at the NFL, in an explanation.

In fact, YouTube consistently classified as No. 1 -Streaming platform of the country and was the top media distributor with 12%market share -before Disney (8.5%), NBCuniversal (7.9%), Fox (7%) and Warner Bros. -Discover in March. 6.7%.

“Last year people spent over 350 million hours to see official NFL content on YouTube, so it is both suitable and exciting to further build up our relationship with our partners at the NFL,” said Mary Ellen Coe, Chief Business Officer from YouTube.

In February, the NFL announced a return to the Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, for a game on Friday evening week 1, in which the international games 2025 played the Kansas City Chiefs with the Los Angeles Chargers.

YouTube also works with the NFL to achieve a multi-year deal for the annual Super Bowl Flag soccer game with creators and music artists with additional international flag football games. This is followed by the success of the first when YouTube worked with the NFL with the Super Bowl Lix Flag football game, which achieved more than six million live views on YouTube.

The NFL programming is still the most valuable content of all sports and entertainment. The NFL games took 90 of the 100 top programs during the 2024 season.

The NFL and Google have been partners since the first start of the official NFL channel on YouTube in 2015. Since then, the NFL Youtube channel has grown to more than 14 million subscriber streaming clips, highlights, match day care and exclusive original content series.
