The Indian tennis star Yash Chaurasia was because of doping scandal

In a shocking turn of events, the Indian tennis player Yash Chaurasia was given a 12-month ban after a dope test. The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has confirmed the suspension and undercut violations of the tennis anti-doping program (TADP).

CHAURASIA, a 23-year-old staring star, was tested positively for the forbidden substance terbutalin in November 2024. Although he claimed that the substance in his system unintentionally occurred through cough medicine called Brozeet, which he bought over the counter, the ITIA confirmed the suspension.

The decision of the ITIA triggered controversy, especially in view of the latest decisions in which other players such as Italy's Jannik Sünder and Poland IGA Swiatek were involved. While Chaurasia presented receipts and a photo of medicine as proof of his innocence, the ITIA found that the ban was still necessary.

During the 12-month suspension period, Chaurasia is prohibited from participating in events that take part in ITIA members, including ATP, ITF, WTA, and prestigious tournaments such as Wimbledon. Despite the player's demands on innocence and the medication common in India, the ITIA was determined in its judgment and found a strict precedent for violations of anti-doping in tennis.

This recent development is reminiscent of a strong memory of zero tolerance policy compared to doping in sports, sends shock waves through the tennis community and raises questions about the effectiveness of anti-doping measures in the professional tennis circle.
