Putin jumps the direct Ukraine peace talks that he proposed

Istanbul peace talks with high missions on Thursday between Russia and Ukraine, which Wladimir Putin asked when the Kremlin confirmed that he would skip the negotiations, and President Donald Trump added that “nothing” would happen if he and his Russian counterpart were present.

Uncertainty about the start date, the place and the question of whether both sides even participated for chaotic scenes in the Turkish capital Ankara as well as in Antalya and Istanbul.

A back and forth between Kyiv, Moscow and the Trump government pointed out the possibility of a three-way meeting with Trump, Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In the end that didn't.

When Trump spoke on the way to the United Arab Emirates on the way to the United Arab Emirates, he was asked about the level of the delegation that Russia had sent to Turkey.

“Look, nothing will happen until Putin and I come together, ok?” He said and added that Putin did not lead the delegation because Trump had decided not to participate. “He didn't go when I wasn't there.”

Kreml spokesman Dmitry Peskov had previously announced “no” when he was asked on Thursday whether Putin would take talks in Turkey. He added a later media call that there will be “no preparations” for discussions between Putin and Trump in the coming days.

Putin made the proposal for negotiations “without conditions” after Ukrainian allies, including Germany, France and Great Britain, Moscow had presented an ultimatum to either accept the ceasefire proposal or to confront additional sanctions.

It is expected that the Russian leader's NO show will continue to antagonize the White House, which has significantly changed its tone in recent weeks. After his historic oval office, the match scream with Zelenskyy, the Vice President JD Vance has shifted to “too much” in the bilateral peace talks, which Senior Trump Administration officers have held with Russia in the past few weeks.

This is partly due to the fact that Trump's biggest criticism in Ukraine – that American taxpayers have largely financed their defense – after the two nations had concluded a mineral contract that would conclude the possibility of repaying American military aid.

Zelenskyy also agreed to be compliant and supported Trump's demands for an immediate 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

Trump said that he always considered additional sanctions against Russia when he believes that Moscow blocks the peace process, whereby the officials also propose secondary sanctions against the buyers of Russian oil.

After Zelenskyy ended up in Ankara in Ankara on Thursday, Zelenskyy landed in Ankara.

Before a planned meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Zelenskyy said that he would hit a wider Turkish delegation and American diplomats.

“The level of the Russian delegation is not yet officially known to me, but after what we see – it does not look at a serious level,” said Zelenskyy and used a Ukrainian word, which means “appearance” or “theater”.

“We have to understand the level of the Russian delegation and the mandate – whether they are able to make decisions themselves,” he added, “because we all know who actually makes decisions in Russia.”

Instead of joining the talks planned for the talks for Istanbul, after the Kremlin stated on Wednesday, instead of Putin or even Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, it sent a relatively junior team under the direction of Kremlin -Aide Vladimir Medinsky and deputy foreign minister Michail Galuzin.

“This week can really change – but only in May,” said Zelenskyy on Wednesday in an X contribution and added: “I'm waiting to see who comes from Russia, and then I will decide which steps the Ukraine should take.”

“So far, the signals of them have not been convincing in the media,” he added.

While the naming of a Junior team of the Kremlin will not help to dispel Ukrainian and European accusations that Putin does not take peace-related experiments seriously, the Russian delegation, which arrived in Istanbul on Thursday, was “ready for serious work,” said Maria Zakharova of the Russian State Department, Maria Zakharova, on the same day on the same day Day.

In addition to the uncertainty about whether Ukraine would send a delegation to the reduced talks in Istanbul at all, Kyiv and Moscow did not seem to be agreed with the early days of the talks.

While Russian media in the Dolmabahçe Palace initially reported a time from 10 a.m. local time (3 a.m. ET), this switched to noon and then after 5 p.m.

The confusion seemed to continue in Istanbul late Thursday morning. The American staff seemed to prepare an event location for a US delegation as a basis. Officials have crushed in urgent meetings and two security staff who arrived with a German German Shepherd.

In the meantime, the state broadcaster Russia 1 television said that 89 Russian journalists had succeeded in negotiating with the broadcaster's reporters who proposed the NBC messages that they were informed that the negotiations on Thursday would be concluded.
