The police identify teen that were killed in shootings in Ottawa County

Tallmadge TWP. -The police identified the 19-year-old student in Tallmadge Township, who gained his injuries on Friday, May 9th after a shootout.

Connor Lotterman suffered a gunshot wound on the head after shots broke out during a party. Lotterman was brought to a local hospital with critical injuries. He died the following day. The type of death was found as accidental.

Lotterman was not in the room when a 20-year-old man found a firearm in a community in Tallmadge and fired several rounds through the bottom of a bedroom on the upper floor. The balls penetrated the ground and one hit Lotterman in the head.

Detectives say alcohol is a suspected factor in the shootout. The shooting of the shooter was not published because the public prosecutor's office of the district of Ottawa takes criminal charges into account.

According to his obituary, Lotterman was born in Grand Rapids in May 2005 as the son of Steve and Maria Lotterman. He was the youngest of five children and attended the Protestant Reformed Christian School before completing the Covenant Christian High School in 2023. He was an engineering student at the GVSU.
