James Anderson: The former English bowler will play after an injury to Lancashire

It would be Anderson's first county game since the last July when he took 7-35 against Nottinghamshire in Southport.

After withdrawing from international service with 704 test gates, he acted as a bowling consultant for the English team for the rest of the last summer and introduced his name for the Indian Premier League without being selected.

But he signed a deal to play for Lancashire in the championship and in the T20 explosion for Lancashire.

His return is a welcome thrust for the Red Rose County, who, after the pre-season favorites, for an immediate return to the first division four and lost one of her five games.

It led to the resignation of captain Keaton Jennings at the beginning of this week and an explanation that apologized for the bad start of the club into the season.

The Australia dough Marcus Harris takes over the skipper. Anderson expects that he will bring “great experience and leadership” to the fighting side, according to a club declaration.
