Cotter, Bratt achieved in the shootout when Devils defeated with 3-2

Newark, NJ (AP)-Paul Cotter and Jesper Bratt scored 3-2 in the shootout and the New Jersey Devils on Monday evening for their third win in four games.

Luke Hughes and Nico Heschier scored in the regulation for the Devils, who won their second time after a 5-2 victory in Minnesota on Saturday. Jacob Markstrom had 27 parades.

Vinnie Hinostroza and Matt Boldy scored for the game who lost in five competitions for the fourth time. Filip Gustavsson ended with 26 parades.

In the Tiebreaker, Cotter and Bratt scored a goal in the first two attempts by the Devils, and Boldy's shot on the second attempt at the sugary slat went out of the crossbar to win New Jersey.

Hughes, the 21-year-old defender and brother of the injured Devil Center Jack Hughes, scored the goal with his seventh goal with 7:30 a.m.

Hinostroza tied it at 2:57 a.m. with his fifth.

Hischier scored his team at 9:12 a.m. with the 34th goal of third place to record New Jersey with 2-1, but Boldy tied it again with his 25th with 2:08.

Devils: New Jersey ended March with eight wings in 16 games to reach the 40-weight mark for the second time in three seasons. The devils in the Metropolitan Division have a solid grip on third place.

Wild: Minnesota lost for the fifth time in the last six street games. Minnesota still has a record of 22-11-4 this season.

Key moment

Markstrom has kept an important overtime at Jared Spurgeon from Minnesota. The 35-year-old goalkeeper improved in his first season with the devils to 25-14-6.
