Russian motorcycle attack in Ukraine thwarted by gorge: video

A video is viral about what a Russian soldier tried on a motorcycle who tries to reach a trench line and not to jump.

“The Russian motorcycle attack did not go according to plan,” wrote the Pro-Ukrainian account Special Kherson Cat on social media next to the soldier's 15-second video, which accelerated in the field in the field and does not vacate it on the other side.

Newsweek Could not check the film material independently and turned to the Russian Ministry of Defense to get a comment.

Why is it important

Since the second half of the 2024, the Russian armed forces have increasingly used civil vehicles, including motorcycles, in attacks throughout Ukraine.

The Institute for the Investigation of War (ISW) said in a report on May 7 that Russian armed forces were using motorcycles to penetrate the Ukrainian lines. However, the Ukrainian media reported failures in the maneuver.

What to know?

Special KHerson Cat regularly publishes videos about the Russia Ukraine War on X (formerly Twitter) and Bluesky. On Thursday, the account and undated drone film material from an unspecified place showed a Russian soldier on a motorcycle race towards the gap.

The soldier is unable to clarify the gap and see how he hits the bank on the other side. The clip then cuts the soldier that is next to the motorcycle.

Newsweek Did not embed the video due to its graphic nature. From Thursday afternoon it received over 100,000 views on X.

It is the latest video that shows Russian troops with motorcycles on the front.

On May 5, Ukraine's National Guard published a clip in which he showed drones a Russian motorcycle rush of troops, who tried to plant their flag on the ruins of a building. The video ends with the corpses of wounded or dead Russian soldiers who lie next to their motorcycles.

Last week, Ukrainian drones destroyed almost a dozen Russian storm troops on motorcycles in the Kupyansk sector in the Kharkiv region, as the State Border Good Service was given, cited by The Kyiv post.

The ISW said it started to consistently observe Russian armed forces to transport the infantry in Kharkiv, Chasiv Yar and Zaporizhia from the middle of last year. Forbes This month reported that the Russia's motorcycle storm tactics sometimes work and that Russian regiments push about a mile to the west at the front in eastern Ukraine.
