Apart from the fact that the nation is fascinated with the last dance during the pandemic, Michael Jordan has mainly stayed out of the media's spotlight since retirement.

Until now. The six-time NBA champion announced that he would take part in NBC reports as a special contributor for NBC Sports.

Since TNT's contract ends with the NBA after 35 years, NBC signed a contract with the league to start Broadcasting games for the first time since 2002.

Before entering the NBC team, Jordan had never worked publicly in any kind of media/commentary role since retirement.

“I look forward to being a special contribution to the project. I look forward to seeing them all when the NBA starts on NBC this October,” said Jordan.

When asked about Jordan's future as a media member, legendary broadcaster Kevin Harlan also expressed excitement.

“We have a flood of stories from hosts and their analysts, they are great, but there is only one Michael Jordan.” said Harlan. “You want to see that. What is behind the curtain.”

The 62-year-old spent 15 seasons in the NBA and scored an average of 30.1 points per game (most times), 5.3 assists and 6.2 rebounds. Jordan won the NBA MVP Prize five times and made the all-star team 14 times.

After his game days were over, Jordan bought a significant participation of Charlotte Bobcats in 2006 (second largest shareholder behind the majority owner Robert Johnson). It also served as a basketball operations manager of the team.

A few years after Jordan took over the majority owners of the team in 2010, he changed the name of the team back to Hornets before the 2014-2015 season. In front of a few summers, Jordan sold his majority stake to a group under the direction of Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall.
