The top trend goals for summer trips in the USA

According to Tripadvisors Summer Travel Index 2025, this season is very busy. 63% of the Americans came across the street. This summer, travelers are looking for a combination of bliss beads and lively city life, with haunting experiences going in front of the way.

The top domestic goals include Las Vegas, New York City and Myrtle Beach. While these cities see an increase in bookings, Florida is still a top position with four cities in the ten best trend destinations. But less well -known spots also increase. Big Sur in California and Moran in Wyoming and York Beach in Maine are just a few of the fastest growing domestic goals that are powered by 38% of travelers who long for a deeper connection to nature.

Another trend that continues to dominate is a focus on experiences that offer deep immersion in the heart of a goal. A whopping 83% of travelers are budgeted for activities, most plan up to five. Gen Z is particularly eager and book 14% or more activities when traveling. The hottest experiences for the summer of 2025 are cultural and thematic tours, outdoor adventures such as hiking and riding and fun on a water-based such as cruises and sailing.

Travelers also become smarter in the planning. Over half are the booking activities in advance, and gen z and millennials lead the indictment and often use social media to form their travel routes. In the meantime, Boomer still trusts local tips on site.

Regardless of whether it catches the fountain of Bellagio, myrtle Beach State Park walks or a sightseeing tour in NYC, one thing is clear: American travelers want to escape everything – lights, nature, cultural thrill and unforgettable experiences.
