The 18-year-old identifies in a fatal suspicion of Dui crash on the Highway 58

The Coroner's Office of the Kern County identified the 18-year-old, who was killed as Abram Raymond Perez from Delano in a suspected Dui crash on the Highway 58. The forensic doctor said Perez died at the scene.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash on Saturday, April 26, 2025, took place at around 3:43 a.m., reacted to a collision with two vehicles on Highway 58 in Bena Road. According to a preliminary investigation, a Mazda pickup from 2002 drove to the east at a speed of between 70 and 75 miles per hour when he approached a trailer with a trailer on the back of a Remi slingshot from 2016, who moved on a graded hill with 35 miles per hour.

Chp said that the Mazda was unable to slow down and collided with the back of the Freightliner supporter. The Mazda driver suffered moderate injuries and was brought to Kern Medical. The passenger identified as Perez was declared dead at the crime scene.

The driver of the Freightliner stopped immediately and worked together with the examination. CHP stated that alcohol and/or drugs are suspected as factors in the crash.

Abram's family expressed their grief to Eyewitness News, and a small monument was set up in honor at the crash site. Friends of the family saw how they have their respect and promised to support the family in this difficult time.
