Orange Beach Elementary Students achieve 100% on or above the class level.

GCM employee report

Orange Beach-Zum second in a row, every third grade student in Orange Beach City Schools (OBCS) on the Leading Program (ACAP) in Alabama has Alabama's reading, although the state has reduced the shortening this year.

This achievement builds on the historical performance in 2024, as OBCs was the only school district in Alabama, which reached 100% 100% in third grade.

The repetition of this performance under even stricter standards confirms the continued excellence of the district in early literacy lessons and its unshakable commitment to the success of the students.

The OBCS superintendent Randy Wilkes praised the students and employees and said: “The meeting of this brand for two years, especially with tougher expectations, a strong evidence of the commitment of our teachers, the school management, the support of our families and the potential of our students. This is not just a score.

The ACAP -Reading evaluation serves as a critical yard for Alabama's literacy Act, which emphasizes the importance of reading skills until the end of the third grade. Students who do not meet can be exposed to expectations at the class level and additional interventions. With 100% of the third graders who make or exceed these expectations, OBCS continues to lead the state to ensure that early literacy is priority.

Wilkes added: “We believe that strong readers become strong learners. Our goal is not only to fulfill the standard, but to put it.”
