Mother of two two killed by Jim Wells County Crash

A single mother of two two girls was killed in an accident on Wednesday, May 14th, when her vehicle was hit by a semi truck, according to the Ministry of Public Security.

Lindsey Webster, a graduate of the Orange Grove School from 2019, was about to complete her college degree in pharmacology when the fatal crash near the intersection of Farm-to-Market 2044 and North Highway 281, about 10 miles from Orange Grove.

“I was shocked,” said Dede Cunningham, who taught webster at the Orange Grove High School. “I couldn't believe it. It was one of these stories that they cannot be real. And for something that is so tragic to get home.”

Former teachers described Webster as an extraordinary student with a promising future.

“Very motivated. She had everything for her. Her skills were excellent. She was a great, great student. Very ripe, very reliable. It is a big loss,” said Cunningham.

Orange Grove HS teachers spoke special concerns for Websters two young daughters.

“I think of these little girls and can no longer get her mother with you. I can't imagine losing a child. From the point of view of a parent, I just can't imagine that there is a greater loss,” said Cunningham.

Molly Dobson, another orange Grove HS teacher, shared similar feelings.

“Everything I could think of are her babies. She has two little girls. We pray for her. We pray for these babies. It is so heartbreaking what to do,” said Dobson.

DPS continues to examine the crash, including the examination of toxicological reports as part of its investigation.
