One killed, another injured in Hitchcock Apartment shots

One person is dead and another was admitted to the hospital in an apartment complex in Hitchcock after a double shooting on Thursday afternoon.

The police reacted to the independent missionary Village Apartments in 6607 Prino Road at 3:20 p.m.

Officers arrived to find two people with gunshot wounds and immediately started with HLW. A victim died at the scene. The other was taken to a nearby hospital in an unknown state.

According to the authorities, two suspects ran from the scene. No arrests were made from 4:55 p.m., and the police did not publish a detailed description of the suspects.

Several agencies reacted to the scene, including the Hitchcock police, the Hitchcock ISD officials, the Bayou Vista police, the MPs of the Sheriff of Galveston County and a K-9 unit from Texas City Police.

The shootout attracted a large amount of residents, many of whom expressed frustration about what they described as a delayed police and medical reaction.
