The Coweta County family sharpens awareness after the cyclist hit and killed

Atlanta, GA. (Atlanta News First) – A family Coweta County raises awareness of the safety of cyclists after a well -known business owner has been killed in cycling.

Carl Wiggers was hit by a truck from behind when he ran his bike along the Old Highway 85 in Senoia in April. Wiggers was a husband, father and grandfather and an owner of a nursing business in Coweta County.

“I lost the love of my life,” said Marcia, his wife. “It shouldn't end.”

The lawyer of Wiggers, Bruce Hagen by Bike Law Georgia, said that the driver was arrested and would be available for charges.

While you want justice, the family also wants others to learn from this tragedy by respecting the cyclists on the go.

“You are changing the trail if you can do this,” said Hagen. “If you can't, slow down and leave it at least three feet when you drive past.”

Atlanta News initially turned to Georgia State Patrol to receive further information on the driver's charges. Hagen said he was expecting a vehicle murder.

“Take a few minutes to slow down and it will be okay,” said Wiggers. “We speak slower and attentively for 30 seconds instead of taking life.”

According to the family, there will be a memory of Wigger on May 21.
