Trump, America continues to make you great

A man in Death Row in Florida took his last opportunity to share a message with the world on Thursday to show his support for President Donald Trump.

“President Trump, continues to make America great. I'm ready to go,” said Glen Rogers, 62, moments before getting a fatal injection.

Rogers was executed in 1995 for murder of a 34-year-old mother of two children, whom he had met in a bar.

In his last explanation, Rogers also thanked his wife, who used to visit him in prison a day, according to visitor protocols. He also said a bit cryptically that “your questions will be answered in the near future” without going into detail.

The fatal injection started to Trump after his message, and he was quiet through the process.

The execution took place in the Florida State Prison near Strong. Rogers was declared dead at 6.16 p.m., the authorities said.

Rogers, a alleged serial killer who was once checked after a possible connection to the OJ Simpson case in the 1990s, was killed for Tina Marie Cribbs.

Cribs and Rogers met in a bar. She was found dead in a Tampa Motel room.

Rogers also met a separate death sentence for Sandra Gallagher's strangulation murderer in California, a mother of three children whom he had met in a bar in van Nuys, California. This killing came weeks before the murder of the cribs. Rogers was stopped after a motorway hunt in Kentucky when he drove the Cribbs car shortly after her death.

Rogers was named as a suspect, but never convicted of several other killings across the country and told the police that he had killed about 70 people. He later revoked this statement, but was the subject of documentary films, including one from 2012 called “My Brother the Serial Killer”, in which his brother Clay and a criminal profiler had extensively corresponded to Rogers.

The documentary asked questions about whether Rogers could be responsible for the stabbing of Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.

During a 1995 murder process, in which the attention of the media was intense, the former football star and prominent Simpson was acquitted of all charges. The police and public prosecutor in Los Angeles later said after the documentary was released that they did not believe that Rogers participated in Simpson and Goldman's murders.

“We know who Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman killed. We have no reason to assume that Mr. Rogers was involved,” said Los Angeles police department in a statement at that time.

Simpson had always stated for innocence, but was later liable for death in a separate civil procedure and then served nine years in prison for non -related charges. The 76-year-old Simpson died in April 2024 after the fight against cancer.

Rogers, originally from Hamilton, Ohio, was also referred to in various media reports as “Casanova Killer” or “Cross Country Killer”. Some of his alleged and proven female victims had similar properties: age in the thirties, a delicate frame and red hair.

Hours before his execution Rogers woke up at 3:45 a.m. and later received a visitor, said Ted Veerman, spokesman for the corrections. He said Rogers had a meal with pizza, chocolate and soda.

The Supreme Court of the United States denied Rogers' final appeal on Wednesday without comment.

Rogers' lawyers have submitted several appeals to state and federal courts, no success. One argument was that the newly issued state legislation, which authorizes the death penalty for human trafficking, makes it clear that the abuse he has suffered as a child should now be taken seriously and should lead to lifelong prison for Rogers. This argument was rejected.

Florida uses a three-way cocktail for its fatal injection: a sedative, a paralytic and a medication that, according to the correction department, stops the heart.

Rogers became the fifth inmate in Florida this year.

Anthony Wainwright is the next Florida inmate, which will be exposed on June 10 – on June 10th – as part of a death sentence signed by the Republican governor Ron Desantis. The 54 -year -old Wainwright was convicted of a supermarket car park in Lake City in 1994 and raped and killed her.
