Teacher in Gurnee, who is charged with widespread child pornography – NBC Chicago

The detective of the Sheriff of the Lake County arrested a teacher from the Gurnee region because they spread child pornography on Thursday, said officials.

According to an explanation, detectives received a tip from a social media company that a user may have forwarded child pornography to another user. Detective said they had initiated an investigation and found that the likely source of a residence in the 300 block of the Buckingham Drive comes in Grayslake.

After Detective had received a search command, they found that the device was probably used by the perpetrator, the 47-year-old Todd Fowler.

Officials said Fowler was in Gurnees Woodland Elementary School.

According to the Sheriff's department, it is assumed that Fowler not only has and spread child pornography, but also published photos of local students and their parents in social media and shared them with pedophiles across the country.

“This is an appreciative crime – especially if someone is committed by someone who has a positive impact on our youth,” said Sheriff John D. Idleburg.

The Lake County's office approved the indictment for possession and distribution of child pornography. Officials said that additional fees are pending due to the results of a forensic exam.
