Tennessee Baseball meets four homes for the first win in Arkansas in 10 years

Dalton Bargo scored two homes when Tennessee defeated Arkansas in Fayetteeville for the first time in Fayetteeville Arkansas.

The No. 14 Vols achieved a victory against No. 5 Arkansas No. 5. Game 2 on May 16 for 7:30 p.m. ET in game 1 of the last series of the regular season.

The last victory of UT in Fayetteeville was on May 8, 2015. This was only UT coach Tony Vitellin's second victory against Arkansas in 11 attempts, and the other was in Knoxville.

UT improved to 41-13 and 16-12 in the second game. Arkansas fell to 41-12 and 18-10 in SEK.

Bargo set the tone with a solo homerun in the second inning. Then he hit a Homer with two runs in the seventh, whereupon Dean Curley's Homer followed for two consecutive shots. Cannon Peebles received a Homer with two runs in the ninth to ward off a rally from Arkansas.

It was the 10th time this season when the Vols scored four Homeruns in a single game.

UT starter Marcus Phillips (4-4) allowed three runs with five goals in 4.1 Inning for the victory.

UT has lost four SEC series in a row, but it would fall into play 2 through the sleds of Arkansas in game 2. Ace Lefthander Liam Doyle (9-2, 2.17 ERA) will take the hill for the Vols.

UT tries to land a NCAA home region that goes to the top 16 seeds. When the VOLs entered this series, they were projected by USA Today Sports as No. 16 -aatgut, but just outside the top 16 of D1baseball.
