Man killed, teenager who was injured while shooting in front of a primary school in Philadelphia

Philadelphia (WPVI) – According to the police, a shootout outside of a primary school in the logan section of Philadelphia had an 18-year-old man dead and a teenager brought to the hospital.

The shots came out on Thursday shortly after 6 p.m. in the Lindley Avenue Block in 1700.

According to the police, both victims were in a play area outside the James Logan School when about 38 shots were fired.

The 18-year-old victim was found in an inner courtyard of the elementary school. He no longer reacted to the chest and torso with several gunshot wounds, the police said.

He was taken to a regional hospital where he was declared dead.

The second victim identified as 17-year-old was brought to the Einstein Hospital. Your condition has not yet been published.

“No members of the James Logan School -Community were involved. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who were affected,” said Philadelphia's school in a statement.

Chopper 6 was over when the police depressed the scene.

“In order for someone to fire 38 shots on school during the day, it is just a very, very hideous crime,” said Scott Small, chief of police at Philadelphia.

Officers were also examined directly in front of the school premises because they say that the surveillance video shows people who run in this direction after shooting.

On Thursday evening outside of school, Kevin Lewis and other members of the Philadelphia gathered anti-drug/anti-violence network to support people in the neighborhood.

“We will try to unite the masses, to unite the neighbors, to speak to them, to check whether one of them needs a trauma advice or something,” said Lewis.

The police are looking for two suspects.
