Miss Universe Australia candidate Brigitte Murphy suffers with an injury in Netball accident

A young candidate for Australian beauty competitions does not look back after she shared her facial injuries after a horror accident in the netball.

Brigitte Murphy is one of the women who represented Victoria in the 2025 Miss Universe Australia competition and flew to Vietnam to Vietnam on May 11th to turn photographer Jarrad Seng.

But just two weeks before filming, the veterinarian from Albury-Wodonga went to the Netball Court and ended with a shabby and injured face.

The Miss Universe National Finalist went to Tiktok to share details about their fall and their subsequent injuries, including a broken tooth.

“I just can't believe that,” said Murphy in her first a number of clips and added that it was the “worst possible case scenario” – except broken bones that prevented them from walking.

“I played Netball and when I caught the ball I had pushed in the middle of the air and I had about five seconds to turn around and promote myself,” she said.

The pageant managed to protect herself to a certain extent, but unfortunately her cheek and her eye grazed the surface of the courtyard. Your tooth was also broken.

“I mean, if you don't laugh, you cry – right?”

Murphy documented her injury healing in the next few days and said she felt incredibly uncomfortable and could not sleep. Her eye swelled considerably more in a follow-up clip on the second day.

“I have 13 days to Vietnam with Miss Universe, and that's what my face looks like,” she said. “This morning my upper eyelid is completely blown up. I have work today, so I will do my best to cover it up,” she added as she used a concealer.

In a third update, Murphy said her family doctor said concerns about a facial fracture, but luckily a CT scan showed that she was in the “All Clear”. She also went to the dentist and was thankfully announced that due to the fracture it has “no chance” that the tooth dies.

To heal the wound, the candidate said that she was Cerave Advanced Repair Balm, a cream for bruises, a Dr. Dennis -Mask and Clinical LED mask used. She also frozen the wound all day.

The young Aussie said she tried mostly and pretended to do as if she had no stressful time.

As with a miracle within five days, there was only a few red spots on her skin.

“The swelling, bruising and the wound have gone down. People told me to wrap myself in cotton wool. I'm sorry, your girl won't do that.”

The Miss Universe candidate then ended the clip by thanking everyone for their concerns, encouragement and advice.

On Wednesday, Murphy went on Instagram to share the first photos of himself in Vietnam and swing a blood orange helicopter mini dress. There was a sign of brutal injuries on her face.

“Go well, the panel will love you,” said a fan.

Another said: “Yayyyy, amazing. I knew that she would be shocked how quickly it would heal and recover.”

“Yes, it looks so good,” commented another.

Others congratulated their appearance and called them “breathtaking”, an “angel”, “wonderful” and a “lady in red”.

The young veterinary doctor revealed in a Tikok video why she applied for Miss Universe and said she wanted to work for mental health after being bullied as a teenager.

“I killed a lot of therapy and with good people to get to the place where I am today.

“I want to break the shape of the beauty stereotypes,” she added.

Murphy documents her days in Vietnam for the Miss Universe competition, where the 30 finalists in the Hoiana Resort & Golf, a luxurious beach hotel, spent around 15 minutes from Hoi.
