The Duke inherited his title and the Grosvenor family in 2016 after suddenly his father Gerald Grosvenor could die. At that time, Hugh was only 25 years old.

Despite his age, Hugh became the 7th Duke of Westminster and took responsibility for an extensive portfolio that includes Prime Immobilien in 60 countries.

The family ownership of the family includes over 1,500 buildings worldwide. In London, the Grosvenor Group has large parts of Mayfair and Belgravia, including top -class assets such as the Beaumont Hotel and the possession of the American embassy.

Outside the capital, the family has the 11,000 hectare Eaton estate in Cheshire, the Abbeystead estate in Lancashire and additional country in Scotland and Spain.

While Hugh is often referred to as a billionaire, a large part of his assets takes place in a number of family trust factors that were founded decades ago. This structure prevents a family member from selling large assets without permission.

This model of prosperity protection is not unusual in aristocratic families and is intended to ensure the longevity of the estate.

A estate planning expert noticed: “He may be the duke, but he has no empty check. It is a thoroughly modern approach.”

Life from the spotlight away

Despite the great fortune that is attached to its name, Hugh managed to maintain a relatively low profile. He studied agriculture at Newcastle University and worked in the sustainability company Bio-Bean, which implements the coffee center into biofuels.

According to reports, he still spends a large part of his time in the family property in Cheshire and should be practical for daily tasks.

Close friends have often described him as modest, grounded and uninterested in the traditional traps of wealth.

Hugh's engagement with Olivia was announced in 2023. The couple married in the Chester cathedral in June 2024.

Olivia, who has a background in the sustainable food industry, has reportedly corresponded to the Grosvenor family. The couple confirmed at the beginning of this year that their first child would expect.

This next step in her personal life is an important moment for the family, and speculation has already started to live a relatively private and well -founded life – especially in view of the Duke's efforts.

Connections to the royal family

The duke's connection to the royal family goes beyond the status. He is one of Prince George's sponsors and has remained close to Prince William and Princess Kate over the years.

Hugh's late father, Gerald, was a long -time friend of King Charles and regularly accepted royal events. The family remains firmly embedded in royal circles, and Hugh regularly visited public and private occasions.

What the future is doing

As one of the youngest and richest aristocrats of Great Britain, all eyes are aimed at Hugh because he is preparing for fatherhood and a future in which he could play an increasingly public role.

But at the moment it seems that the duke focuses on his growing family and maintains the heir built over 900 years.

The Duke and the Duchess of Westminster should welcome their first child later this year.
