China couple celebrate a wedding in the Hotpot chain for 3,100 US

An unconventional wedding banquet for a young couple in northern China has become viral on social media after he had invited 140 guests to enjoy a meal in a hotpot restaurant to enjoy modest costs of 22,000 yuan (3,000 US dollars).

The festival organized as a buffet ended with an invoice that lasted two meters long and delighted internet users on the Chinese mainland, as reported by Sichuan Observer.

The 26-year-old bride and her 27-year-old husband celebrated her wedding on May 1st in an outlet in the well-known Haidilao hotpot chain in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, after the last minute cancellation of her original banquet event location.

“In view of the short -term period of time, we could not prepare for a traditional wedding,” said the bride, surname Zhao.

“A friend suggested organizing our wedding in a hotpot restaurant. My husband and I are both fans of Haidilao and once joked that our wedding might take place there. This unexpected cancellation encouraged us to implement this idea into reality.”

The location of Haidilao in Taiyuan included the couple's wedding reserve and decorated the room with living wall exhibitions, illuminated signage and a festive red balloon arch at the entrance.
