Boston Red Sox Tease New City Connect Uniform

Good morning, university observer. It's Friday – we did it!

As I found in Lede yesterday (in the department “and finally …”), the Red Sox annoyed their new uniform of the city of Connect uniform yesterday afternoon. And since the big story will only happen this afternoon, I will keep this article short.

The teaser video actually reveals little (when you consider how the leak's team was aware of), but for those who are not obsessed with the minutia of sporting aesthetics Do Follow the Red Sox on social media, the tease was probably pretty exciting.

In fact, “tomorrow” is today and the uniforms are officially unveiled today at 3:30 p.m. And as I mentioned yesterday, I will have a complete preview today at 3:30 a.m. I have already seen the full uniforms and I think when I say I think everyone will really like them. So make sure that you set a memory to look for the full run here at 3:30 a.m.

I would also like to thank Kate Reilly and Troup Parkinson's by the Red Sox for discussing the universities in detail with me and granting early access to the revealing materials. Troup was particularly knowledgeable and he also has totally Getsit ™ and is definitely a university observer. I look forward to sharing the new universities with you.

The SOX really wait until the last minute to reveal them (although the anticipation is half of the fun) and actually not even the new uniforms for prelude to warm-ups and BP, they wear their regular BP equipment and then switch to the new uniforms shortly before the first field. Although I am sure that many fans present will see the new universities on their telephones, for others – and there will probably be some fans who have no idea that the new CC will come – their first look at the new uniform will be a surprise.

Today I will have more articles apart from the 3:30 unveiling, but you will definitely look here. Then see each other.

A uniform helmet by Milwaukee Brewers!

I received the following email from the reader David Scherzer Who has uncovered a unique uniform peculiarity. I am pretty sure that we have never noticed over the years. At least it is new to me and I'm sure you too.

I will have David explained:

Hello Phil.

How are you doing? I am not sure whether this has ever been discussed, but I think I came across something unique. In the mid -1970s, the brewers wore a street cap that had a golden front with a blue “M” logo.

The first Baseman George Scott wore a helmet in the field with the same gold front.

However, the Brewers only had one helmet for home and road, all blue with a gold M. but in Road Games Scott wore his unique helmet when he also fought. So it seems that he was the only player who ever wore a Brewers Road helmet.

I cannot imagine any other case in which a player wore a different style helmet than his teammates. Can you throw some light on it?

Sincere,

David Scherzer
Westfield, NJ

Thanks, David! To be honest, I never noticed the discrepancy of the home/street cap, but I think you may have hit a little here. Unfortunately there is no impact helmets in the nine, and the crew wore these roadies for four seasons. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to search for four years to ensure that the team never wore the helmet at Scott at BAT. But at that time most teams only used a blank helmet (and only had two uniforms), so that it definitely makes sense that Scott's helmet was actually unique.

As for the second part – unless a mistake was made somehow, I have never heard of a player who wears another helmet from his teammates. This could be the first (and only) example of this.

Reader? Does one of them have an insight into David's questions?

Uniform concepts and optimizations

Time for further university optimizations from the UW readership.

I hope you like this function and would like to continue to present your concepts and optimizations. If you do this, shoot me an email (phil (dot) hedges (at) Google Mail (dot) com).

Today's concepts come from Jeffrey Kruger.

Hello, Phil. Here is funny, self -initiated design exercise.

Inspired by large, bold stripes – like the Developers alternative black “jersey” sweater. . .

And through the various Skating Cartoon -Talisman illustrations of the era. . .

I offer these very stripes Cleveland (AHL) stitch with the secondary “mascot -on -time” logos of the team as their coat of arms.

The first is a Mashup between 1959 and 1960 Cleveland Baron Home Sweaters.

Shoulders of one year, striped pattern from the other (but hold the hairdressing rod socks).

The research patterns and comments and a nice patch include 36 seasons in the arena.

_____
Second, a reinterpretation of your street sweater from 1950-51 is.

I chose antiques – white for the base, no outlines for stars or numbers – because the new coat of arms is colorful and striped units are large.

I have to move the patch for this one pants, there is a lot to be seen at the front.

This was an entertaining research project, which was strongly supported by Gene Kiczek's book “Forgotten Glory”, a great source of photos/information.

Perhaps this concept has a place in 2027 for a 90-year commemoration of the name of the barons and their (then new) home ice in 1937.

The most sincerely,
Jeff Kruger

Ok reader (and concepters). If you have some improvements or concepts, shoot them on my way with one meager Description of your creation and I will run it here.

Probably from the scoreboard from the game

Rate the game …

… from the scoreboard

Today's scoreboard comes from Nate Gervais.

The premise of the game (GTGFTS) is simple: I will publish a scoreboard and simply identify the game shown. In the past I don't know if I always You have completely amazed them (some are easier than others).

Here is the scoreboard. Try to identify the game (date and place as well as the end result) in the comments below. If something remarkable occurred during the game, please add this (and if you were in the game, bonus points for you!):

Please send them on! You are welcome to send me all the display panel photos (please answer), and I will continue to do it.

Probably the game from the uniform

Based on the proposal of a long -time reader/participant Jimmy CorcoranWe have introduced a new “game” at the University of Watch, which resembles the popular “the game from the scoreboard” (GTGFTS). Only this has asked readers to identify the game based on the uniforms carried by teams.

Like gtgfts, readers are asked to guess the date, place and end result of the game from the information provided in the photo. Sometimes the game should Be easy to determine, while in other cases it could be quite difficult. It will normally Be a visual note (something strange or unique for one or both uniforms), which enables positive identification of one and only one game. In other cases, the game in question can be somewhat meaning, like the last time that a certain uniform has ever been worn (one of Jimmy's original suggestions). It is up to you to find out the game and the date.

Today's GtgtU comes from Oscar mountain current.

Good luck and please post your guess/answer in the comments below.

And finally …

… This is for the early post, but there will be a few more episodes today, including Susan's tickers and of course the big one at 3:30 a.m., so you will definitely look several times.

Everyone has a Good Friday and a better weekend. Anthony will take you with you by Monday if I will see you next.

Until then …

Peace,

PH
