This year's beaten Ulster -SFC finalists -Armagh or Donegal -will fall into the so -called “group of death” in the All -Ireland series.

The losers of the Ulster final on May 10 will be installed together with the beaten Connacht finalists – either Galway or Mayo – as well as Dublin and Derry in group four.

“Can I be the first to call it the 'group of death', please?” Said Gaa Director of Player, Club and Games Administration Feargal McGill during the raffle on Wednesday.

The Ulster Champions will use the Connacht final on Sunday between Galway and Mayo, Tyrone and Cavan.

The group four seems to be hardest on paper, since all eight potential teams have reached the KO -rounds of the past year.

Derry and Dublin are guaranteed to be part of it with both counties, hoping to recover from disappointing provincial campaigns.

Derry lost in the preliminary round of Ulster against Donegal, while Dublin was stunned in the Leinster semi-final last weekend in Portlaoise from Meath and since 2010 a first leinster final set up without the dubs.

The first round of Sam Maguire Games will be on the weekend of 17/18. Played in May, with the finalists of Connacht and Munster belong to the actions.

The finalists of Ulster and Leinster will begin their campaigns the following week.

Armagh hopes to keep her all-Ireland title after winning Gaelic Football Prize for the second time last summer.

After lost in punishment against Donegal against Donegal last year, the Orchard County navigated her way through a group of death, which contained Galway, Derry and Westmeath before struck Roscomon, Kerry and Galway in the KO rounds to lift Sam.

Down, who brought a place in the Sam Maguire series by winning last year's Tilteant Cup, will compete against the Leinster winners, the Munster second place and Monaghan in the third group.

In the Tilteann Cup, Antrim will hit West Meath, Limerick and London against 2022, while Fermanagh will compete against Wexford, Carlow and Longford.

Antrim, who had relegated to Division 4 before the loss of her Ulster quarter-finals against Armagh, reached the semi-finals of the Tackrean Cup in the last two seasons.
