Xbox Hardware -Leck new generations throws compatibility problems – Xbox out

The future looks uncertain for Xbox

The current generation of Xbox consoles leads into the fifth year and is no wonder that Microsoft has already turned its attention to the next generation.

In the past few months, rumors indicated that Microsoft is working on a number of uneven projects, including the successor to the Xbox series X/S, a handheld console and another handheld -gaming system called Project Kennan.

Take a look at the current gene of Xbox consoles in the trailer below!

The latter is rumored that it is similar to that of the steam deck and is operated on windows. In addition, it is expected that will start later this year in cooperation with ASUS.

As far as the unnamed handheld console and the successor console are concerned, Microsoft himself does not confirm much.

According to a report on Resetera forums, however, a Qualcomm joo list shows that the next generation of Xbox products will be based on the ARM/Snapdragon platform that can cause some concerns about the reverse compatibility, since it differs from what Microsoft has used historically for its software.

In particular, the list of a sales director that could be supported “Sales activities for the next generation of surface and Xbox products based on Snapdragon solutions.

By using the word “products”, we can assume that every upcoming Xbox product uses arm and snapdragon. Although this significantly increases the performance of the units, this means that current games that were built with X86 architecture are no longer compatible.

Of course, Microsoft has not yet confirmed this, but it would be a big victim to exchange access to current games.

It has not yet been confirmed which Xbox product will be published next, but thanks to the recent comments by Xbox Head Phil Spencer and the impending publication of the Nintendo Switch 2, we can assume that it is either a project Kennan or another nameless handheld.

This would make even more sense if the rumors of Sony who work on a handheld unit also come into play.
