Highlights: Start the FP1 campaign for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, while Oscar Piatri sets the pace

Oscar Piatri, head of the Formula 1 driver, led the pace in the opening training unit for the Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna and headed McLaren teammate Lando Norris.

Piatri, who won the last three Grands Prix, scored shortly after halfway in the one-hour session with Pirelli's C6 connection, the softest tire in Pirelli's reach, which celebrates his debut this weekend.

Norris covered the five best cars only less than a tenth, including Williams' Carlos Sainz, Mercedes by George Russell and Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari.

The session was stopped early after an accident for Kick Saubers Gabriel Bortoleto in the last corner. The returning Franco Colapinto took 17th place on board his alpine.
