Chicago Shooting: Armontye Alexander Id'd When Shot, killed in Sanford Foods Grocery Store in Laramie, say district officials

Chicago (WLS) – According to officials, a man was shot on the west side of the city on Tuesday morning.

According to the Chicago police, the shootout occurred at around 11:35 a.m. in the grocery store in Sanford Foods in the 500 block of the Laramie Avenue.

The police said at least one shooter went into the store and shot a 32-year-old man in his head and chest.

The victim was brought to a regional hospital in which he died, the police said.

The 37th Alder woman Emma Mitte said that the victim was an employee of the grocery business.

He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner office as Armontye Alexander, 32.

Most of the time, the attack seemed to be a targeted shooting.

“This is unconsciously unacceptable and has to stop. Far too many Chicago succumb to different violent incidents in connection with streets every year,” said in a statement.

The Chicago police said nobody was in custody.

“I offer the family, friends and employees my deepest condolences, blessings and my sympathy about the senseless loss of their esteemed person,” said mids.
