The deputy foreign minister emphasizes economic reforms, transatlantic cooperation in New York

The deputy foreign minister of the Greek Foreign Minister Tasos Chtzivasileiooou delivered a message of trust, reform and strengthened transatlantic ties during an official dinner, which was held on Thursday evening by the Hellenic American Banker Association (HABA) in New York.

Chazivasileio, which dealt with the Greek-American community about the economy, diplomacy and the Greek-American community, underlined the Greece's conversion into a resilient, competitive and investment-friendly economy.

“We are here to help Greek and American entrepreneurs to move hand in hand into the future,” he said. “Our government is obliged to maintain the fiscal, macroeconomic and bank stability that we have reached in the past six years. We are determined to accelerate reforms in order to make the Greek economy even more resistant.”

He described Greece as a “reliable business partner” and referred to the recent upgrades of Moody's and S&P as well as the recognition of the economist, which Greece took over the world's leading economies for 2024.

He emphasized the developing role of Greece in the region and said that the country was an emerging hub for technology, energy, logistics and trade in the eastern Mediterranean.

Chachivasileeiou also praised the Greek-American community as a “living bridge” between Athens and Washington and played an important role in the deepening of bilateral relationships.

With regard to the future, he confirmed the Greek government's commitment to constructive dialogue with the new US administration in important global questions, including energy, trade, investments and tourism.

In a more comprehensive level, the deputy minister said: “The transatlantic relationship remains the strongest of its kind and underlines its strategic value for both Europe and the USA.
