Dog Walker Watch Crime Awareness Program comes to Prescott Valley

Dog Walker Watch is a program for awareness of the crime, which includes 3,000 cities in the USA. The Prescott Valley is the latest community in Arizona that participated.

The idea behind dogs Walker Watch is that the local law enforcement authorities train normal people who go for a walk with their dogs, also have a vigilant eye in their neighborhoods – and call 911 if necessary.

Matt Peskin is the director of the National Association of Town Watch, which created the program. He says it was about 10 years ago, but his success in prevention is difficult to follow.

“And it is also difficult to pursue incidents when they occur. In other words, if something should happen and someone is something in it, it is not as if they identify themselves as a dog hike, trainee or the like,” said Peskin.

He said it helped the local law enforcement authorities to revive the community's participation in the contraception of crime.

Volunteers complete a one -hour training that can vary from community to community.
