Fiery crash arranges the security warning of firefighters in the North Oakland County

Oakland County, me. – A fiery crash triggered security warnings from fire officials in the North Oakland County.

Matt Weill, head of the fire department of North Oakland County County, spoke to Local 4 on Friday (May 16) about the first incident with a driver who was saved after being caught in a burning vehicle after a crash.

“Spectators who were witnessed to the accident took immediate measures. They saw the fire bigger and bigger. They got the guy out of the car and they saved his life,” said Weil.

Due to the incident, the fire brigade deals with “dangerous traffic patterns” that they have seen in the middle of the I-75 construction project.

“We are only hammered out here with so much traffic, and then people are in a hurry,” said Weil. “It only starts, take the time. Get where you want to be sure. It is better if you get there safe and late than never arrived there.”

The crash occurred on Tuesday, May 13th, at 3:15 p.m. on the Grange Hall Road and the I-75 Interchange.

When the North Oakland County Fire Authority (Nocfa) arrived, they found that the audience had stepped in to help and pulled the driver out of the vehicle. The nocfa serves Holly and Rose Townships.

The driver was taken to a local hospital to be treated for burns and other injuries.

“We want to recognize and thank the people who have occurred without hesitation – it is a strong memory of the strength and compassion in our community,” said Nocfa fire chief Matt Weil in a press release.

Firefighters deal with traffic concerns on the exchange of the I-75/Grange Hall Road

The fire brigade assumed the traffic concerns during the lockers' closures in the area because the construction work was carried out and asks the drivers to be careful.

“While there is a long-term plan to improve the flow of traffic and security in the region-one one in the future installation of district sellers-these improvements are still removed,” said the fire chief. “In the meantime, the current I-75 project continues to have a significant impact on local traffic and public security.”

Due to the construction, several local roads are used as diversion routes, which has a significant impact on the flow of traffic.

“These streets have never been built to support this band or this type of traffic, and the burden shows – with real security consequences,” said Nocfa.

The fire brigade says that they have seen “dangerous traffic patterns” in the region since the construction work began.

“Since the start of the project, we have seen close calls and dangerous traffic patterns on the Grange Hall Road and I-75 exchange,” said the Nocfa. “Vehicles that try to left or outside the highway are creating dangerous situations, especially if the traffic amount or the drivers are not sure who the right of way is.

Call to act, safety tips for drivers

The fire brigade calls on the drivers to be careful because they continue to work on temporary security improvements with civil servants.

“Let us work together to protect each other while we are waiting for the long -term infrastructure improvements to be effective,” said Weil. “Your attention and cooperation is really important.”

The fire brigade published the following safety proposals for drivers who travel in the Grange Hall Road/I-75 exchange area:

  • Avoid distractions such as mobile phones, especially if you drive with heavy traffic near construction zones or areas

  • Be patient and vigilant at intersections on which the traffic patterns have changed

  • If possible, use alternative routes

  • Obey published signs and signal- they are available to protect the drivers.

  • Report all unsafe conditions so that you can be addressed
